University of Washington’s head coach Mike Hopkins signed RaeQuan Battle to the Husky Family. Battle is staying home as he comes to UW from Tulalip, Wash on the Tulalip Reservation.
“We’re really excited to add RaeQuan to the UW program. He’s a Pacific Northwest guy that has had an excellent high school career up to now. roven winners and brings a unique skill set to our program. He’s the right fit for what we are looking for on and off the court and we couldn’t be more excited to have him join our family.”
The four-star, 6-5 small forward competed at Marysville Pilchuck High School and led the Tomahawks to the Class 3A state regionals as a sophomore. As a junior, Battle averaged 21.4 points and 8.0 rebounds leading Marysville-Pilchuck to a 19-5 record and the District 1 title, their first title in over two decades. Battle played for Seattle Rotary on the Nike EYBL circuit where he averaged 20.5 ppg, 5.3 rpg and 2.0 steals at the EYBL Indianapolis event.
“RaeQuan brings an exciting level of talent to our program and is one of the best shooters in the country,” said Hopkins. “He’s explosive athletically, his shooting ability will add a level of depth to our team and we can’t wait to have his skill set here at UW.”
